* How to do pixel-shift for 200MB images! * A comprehensive guide to 3rd party adapters for legacy glass * All of Gary's personal camera settings and customizations * The phase-detect AF's little-known blind spot and how to avoid it * Shortcuts to quickly navigate through the new menu system * Hidden features that can only be had by assigning them to buttons first And now, Gary is working on a new book covering the incredible Sony A1.Īimed at experienced still photographers and videographers alike, this 729-page book (!) explains every feature in excruciating detail, providing the most comprehensive book available anywhere on this camera. I could have given this camera rating a one star but it does have some amazing qualities that deserve respect.Gary Friedman's books are known for their thoroughness and approachability. But I could not keep that body at that price. Hopefully, a firmware fix will arrive in the future. I would buy another one if I was sure this wouldn't happen again but there have been similar complaints on some photography sites about the A1 with my lens and with the 600mm G lens as well. I tried all the settings, even ones that shouldn't matter. It was not a focus problem the entire image was very soft even at 1/3000th second. I am a veteran photographer and I have two Sony bodies, A7iii and A9ii, and both were better at long distance shooting of wildlife with my 200-600mm Sony zoom at 600mm a longer distances. Wish it would have worked properly for meĪlthough there is much to love about this camera: lossless raw compression, high resolution, better colors than some previous and other attributes, my copy was a dud at stabilization. If you could manage the price then this is “the best camera”, well Im not get paid for this review, this is real honest feedback.

There is new interface, ver y user friendly, touch screen is big plus. If you know, what you are doing, you will get un-beaten shots. In low light and in terrible stage laser lights, I managed to get amazing shots.Ĭolor tone, vibrant color, image detail, capture tons of info, most of my shots dont even need lightroom or editing, it saves lot of my post production time.
